Our honeymoon! Oahu & Maui October 2005
(last updated 10.31.05 11:00pm pst)

This was the only panoramic picture that came out decent, "Hanauma Bay".

Here is Lam amazed at our view from one of our two balconies. The other balcony is the view of the city and mountains (kind of boring compared to the ocean view...)

Another picture of Lam enjoying our view, you can't really tell from the picture, but her grin is from ear to ear!

Once again, a shot off the balcony viewing our own beach for Hilton guests.

Here's that boring view from our other balcony, looks like LA on a clean day without the smog...

This is a better way to understand the awesome layout of this room. Two of the four walls were views of either the city or ocean! It was a $60 upgrade per night, and totally worth it! Even better news, when I checked out they didn't even charge me for it!

Here's a pic of us walking the grounds our first day
in Oahu. (can't you tell, with our typical California gear we're wearing...) in the back you can see the check in desk, totally in the open with a view of the ocean and all! Now that's a job that wont get old!

As if she never seen one legged pink storks before...

Lam enjoying her OC swapmeet beef jerky, such an easy person to please... when it comes to food!

The polar bears and Eskimo's were being fed in the back room, so all that was left was these cheesy penguins... still kind of cute!

View off our balcony, you can see how close our pool is to our beach. We never made it to to pool since the beach was so close to us. Plus I'm sure there's less kids peeing in the ocean than our hotel pool.

Sun rise Thursday morning, (day after arriving in Oahu). Not sure why I woke up so early, mahybe it's because we both fell asleep at 6pm the night before.

Damn! You have two choices, go back to sleep or brush your teeth! Lam waking up Thursday morning after 14 hours of sleep!

I was really taking a picture of the cool ass flatscreen so I can show the guys back home, but Lam thought I was taking one of her. Shhhhh, don't burst her bubble! Oh, by the way it was a 32" Philips, picture wasn't the greatest, but it's a flat screen baby!

Here's a picture of Hanauma Bay, home of the great garlic french fries! Oh, and the best snorkling on Oahu. All that black stuff in the water is the coral reef, it's not that foam that we see in our back bays back in Cali... By the way, what is that nasty shit we see in our back bays? Anyways, we went here twice. But on the 2nd visit we finished too late and the snack shop closed so we couldnt get our fix for those awesome garlic fries!

This is us making use of our wedding gift from Derek. It's an underwater housing camera case for our Canon SD400. (another cool wedding gift, thanks to Tho)

Here we are again making use of both our wedding gifts!

Here is Lam practicing one of her two favorite dances:
"I'm a little tea pot"

"Walk like an Egyptian"

Here are those garlic fries! You can almost taste those precious little greasy garlic goodies!

When your employees start plumping up, you better make sure their not sneaking some garlic fries in the back kitchen... This was another sign of good food, when you see employees that are a little bit plumper than normal. You know they're backdooring fries to either eat for themselves, sell to their buddies or sell on ebay...

This is us after hanging out at Hanauma Bay the whole day. Not sure of what beach or bay that is in the back ground, but it looked cool at the time.

That's us eating dinner at some steak house located at out hotel. However, tonight was a special night... they had a special guest chef attending from Australia cooking for 2 days. Lam ordered some kind of Australian fish cooked over hummus. I had lamb chops over some kind of sauce I couldnt pronounce. The short story, our food sucked ass! If you ever see this guy again be sure to shoot his kangaroo jumpin ass and save anyone else from eating his nasty food! Oh that reminds me, we also ordered kangaroo, that sucked ass too! He needs to wipe that damn grin off of his wallabee face! The only thing that kind of saved us was the fact we recieved a $50 credit for any fucntions located on the hotel.

I couldn't believe it! They have the flask sized Remy bottles! I've only seen it for Hennessey. Well I thought this bottle would have lasted me the whole trip...

Looks like it only lasted that night. Oh well, I'll have to make a trip back to the local ABC store. Oh, that reminds me. They have these cool stores everywhere. They call them "ABC Store". They have just about anything you can think of, from your cigars, liquor, sodas, and yes of course Spam Musubi! Yes sir, I had me couple of those!

Us in front of our hotel, coming back from one of our favorite spots. EGGS AND THINGS!!! This place was recomended to us by Joe ("No-Mo Gap teeth") Nguyen. He made it very clear to us that we had to pay a visit to this local coffee shop. Sooo glad we did, this place had the best freakin fried rice I've ever had. My gramps made the best when I was a kid, and since then my aunt was right up there with his... Sorry, but this place was the shit! I mean I would serioulsy eat there everyday if there wasn't 10 parties waiting ahead of us every morning. Check out this mean ass fried rice (under). How could you resist a dish like this?! This couldn't have been good for your heart. Besides the two eggs on top, there were scrambled eggs within the rice, ham, spam, peas, bean sprouts, carrots, mushrooms, and at least a bucket of butter! Again, two thumbs up for Eggs and Things fried rice!

Our next stop was the Dole plantation. Lam has never seen where a pineapple comes from. So to anyone else out there, heres a picture of what a pineapple plant looks like. No, it's not a root, nor do they grow on trees, I guess you can say it's kind of like a bush. Aw who cares, the only reason why we droped by this place was for the pineapple ice cream. Mike Abe said I have to drop by this place for the ice cream, and nothing else. Well we got tricked and took the stupid tour train ride around the plantation, and like a little kid the only thing I could think of was that damn ice cream... That damn train ride was $20 bucks, that could have got me another bottle of Remy or two orders of dope fried rice!

Well 20 minutes later we jumped off the cheesy train ride, and ran ourselves over to the ice cream vendor and got ourselves two waffle cones of pineapple whip Dole ice cream. Once again, two thumbs up!!! Way to go Mike!

Ok, here we are trying to get our monies worth after getting ripped off on that dumb train ride.

Again, Lam enjoying her ice cream and us trying to make our monies worth by walking around the Dole Plantation garden. Dumb little flowers and stuff, but thought my mom would like to see some of these flowers they have over here. I'm sure we have them back home, but I wouldn't know.

Here's a close up (macro) shot of a Hibiscus. I know my brother could appreciate this... As Lam would say, "oh gossh, don't take photos like that... that's such a Derek picture..."

Here's another flower pic for mom. I've never seen one like this back home...

And of course another one never seen before...

And here's another one never seen on the mainland. Looks as if the locals aren't the only ones that are on the hefty size... this snail must have been eating some of that dope fried rice!

Ok, one more flower picture for mom...

Me still trying to get our damn monies worth by taking stupid ass photos in the Dole garden... almost there....

We're on our way back to the hotel and we had to drop by one of those little side vendors for a fresh hairy nut.

And I felt like having some garlic shrimp! If you ever drop by North Shore, you have to check these shrimp shacks out. They have these nasty fly infested, smelly shrimp shacks that cook up some mean ass shrimp! There's a shrimp farm right behind this dirty shack, they pick them live toss them in the pan, and fry them suckers up! We reccomend the spicy garlic shrimp!

Later that night I dropped by our local ABC store and found the next size up... Still not the 750ml, but this'll do just fine!

You would think these 4 star hotels could at least kick down for BETTER 2 ply toilet paper. This stuff felt like rubbing a coconut between your ass cracks... If you never felt that before, it's not the best feeling.

Had to drop by Pearl Harbor, it was a pretty creepy feeling knowing that most of the men that died that day on the USS Arizona still lies within the boat. Other than that, the damn asian tourist (not Japanese, cause they were speaking Chinese) were talking too loud. This memorial site is also viewed as a cemetary, and there should be minimal talking. These tofu heads, were talking up a storm, and of course to the normal white guy they automatically assume those are my peeps!

We had to try out the luau. So we went to the Polynesian Culter Center. Did you know the Mormans own that place? Yup, you guessed it, the "dudes on bikes" run the show at that theme park. Pretty cool gig, you can only attend this once then it can get real old.

Here's their famous Kahlua pig. That was the only good thing they offered at the dinner. Poi is their signature side dish. It's like our mash potatos, but theirs taste like feet and is purple in color. Stick to Uncle Bens or instant mash potatos!

Again, we were told to try another place called Sam Choys for breakfast. It was so so, not the very best. But as you can see Lam enjoyed the papayas! I think she had 6 slices that totaled up to one and a half. (I don't think she had any problems with #2 that day...)

Lam didn't believe me when I told her that the pigeon head wont fit in her right nostril... neither did the pigeon!

On any other day I would take the credit on someone elses creative idea, but since she's my wife and will beat my ass I have to own up to this one. I thought this was a cool postcard picture, and it was all her idea! Good job fella!

I think she was trying to do the "hang-ten" sign, but got it some what mixed up with "answering the phone" sign...

Us on our way out to jet ski. We got a package deal for jet skiing and parasailing. Jet skiing was more fun, besides the salt water going in our eyes and making us tear up it was the best! Parasailing was ok, but once again we would never do that again.

Not sure if you can spot it out, but there's a dude hanging out there on the ledge. I would have to say, he agreed with me on the horrible toilet paper.

This is the view from our room at the Westin Resort in Maui. Thanks to Mark & Monica for this awesome wedding gift!!! I'd give you a kiss Mark, but Mike & Tesh will make fun, and Monica might get jealous! The first night the only ocean view room they had was two queen size beds. So we had to deal with the "I love Lucy" theme for that night, I never knew how much room a 100 lb 5' 2" girl needs to sleep! I forgot to mention, the shower heads at this place is the best I've seen! Dual shower heads with good water pressure! I didn't even have to use soap! They even have a catalog where you can buy their beds, sheets, pillows, shower heads, shower curtains, towels, hair dryer, etc!

This was the closest I got to fishing... nice size boat, too bad I had too much fun doing other stuff like using the best shower head!

Another cool sunset.

Here's Lam mocking the sea lion mating call. She doesn't even come close... Peter Moua is better!

That's us holding our food up like a bunch of tourists (Lam insisted). I think this place was called Aloha Mixed Plate, real creative name... Once again, don't eat poi. Still tastes like feet.

Once we got to Maui we wanted to find another cool place to snorkle. So we found this cool reef, I didn't bother showing Lam that sign. Told her to test the water first to see if the water was cold... She came back with no teeth marks, so we both went snorkling.

This photo was near this place called Mama's Fish House. We ate there for dinner, but before that we visited this place that is popular for wind surfers.

I think she got it right this time...

Well it's dinner time at Mama's Fish House, best place to enjoy a nice sunset dinner on Maui!

This was one of our appetizers we ordered, it's called "poke". Its marinated raw yellow fin tuna, with soy sauce and some other goodies. It was soooo good!

Our second appetizer was won ton shrimp with a sweet and sour dipping sauce, another great dish!

Lam enjoying the appetizers...

Relaxing after eating the appetizers and waiting for our main course!
That is Lams dinner, she had mahi mahi stuffed with shrimp and crab meat, then crusted with macadamia nuts.

I had a little bit larger dish. The white thing is mahi mahi with coconut sauce, the green leaf thing is pork, to the far left is that great side dish poi with lomi lomi salmon and tomatoes, then you can make out the rest of the fruits.

We couldn't pass up the typical picture next to the ti ki.

Well since dinner was so much food, we waited till we got back to the hotel for some simple hotel style dessert.

I think this was at the "International Market" located on Oahu. I was told by Joe, that this place is the place to be if there aint nothin to do... well there wasn't much to do there either...

That's one of our favorite local stores, ABC. This place has it all, from soda & chips to rice balls with sour plums. Why don't we have these in the OC yet?

I also forgot to mention that Pleasant Holidays gave us a free iPod shuffle for going with them to get our package deal. Not a bad deal, Lam was pretty happy when I told her it can play music and it was an iPod.

On our way home...

Back home again with the Korn Dogg!
